I spent a career teaching the U.S. Navy how to teach. Since 2023 I have paired that craft with production AI, building systems that design, produce, and ship learning at a fraction of traditional cost and time. Instructional design is the discipline; AI is the method. Proof of work — selected case studies

1. AI video-production engine for educational content

Challenge: produce a steady stream of teaching videos solo, without a studio, crew, or per-video budget.

Built: an end-to-end pipeline — AI script to storyboard to generated illustration (character-consistent via reference-locking), AI voiceover, motion and captioning, and a reuse engine that searches a 500+ asset library before spending on new generation.

Result: a 10-minute educational video for roughly $2 in media generation; a dozen-plus episodes published and syndicated across four channels; an asset-reuse system that cut per-episode production cost by about half.

2. Hands-off content publishing system

Challenge: a content library that kept stalling because every post required a manual publishing session.

Built: an automated pipeline that sources images to spec, publishes future-dated posts to the web platform on a set cadence, and writes its own completion record so the log can never drift from what actually shipped.

Result: a 350-post engine that runs hands-off; one run schedules weeks of content with zero manual posting and a self-auditing record.

3. A full multi-tier curriculum, produced solo

Challenge: design and produce a complete four-tier course library, normally a team-and-budget effort.

Built: AI-assisted design and media production across the whole catalog, held to a consistent instructional standard and outcome-first lesson architecture, published live to a learning platform.

Result: four published tiers and roughly 1,800 finished learning assets (about 569 videos, 680 documents, 551 graphics) built and shipped by one person.

4. An AI "second-brain" operating system

Challenge: run an entire operation solo without losing the thread across dozens of moving parts.

Built: a versioned knowledge system where the working record is the source of truth — generated dashboards (never hand-edited), automated reconciliation that flags any drift between the record and the live systems, and an AI partner working directly against that knowledge base.

Result: one person operating with the coverage of a team, with a record that stays trustworthy because integrity is enforced by tooling, not memory.

Responsible AI

Every public deliverable carries a clear AI-assisted, expert-authored disclosure, with a human subject-matter expert reviewing and owning the output. I treat AI as a force multiplier under human judgment, not a replacement for it — the governance discipline that L&D and enterprise teams increasingly require.
